Privacy Policy

This website is a personal portfolio. I don't collect contact forms, run accounts, or build visitor profiles. I do use cookies for consent management and case-study access, and Google Analytics is enabled only if you explicitly accept it via the consent banner. See the Cookie Policy for the full breakdown.

This website is the personal portfolio of Shaban Mohammed, a Senior UX Designer based in Toronto, Canada. The site is available at shabanmohammed.com.

I do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. Here is what the site does and does not do:

• No contact forms, sign-up forms, or user accounts
• No advertising IDs or fingerprinting
• The "Copy Email" button copies my address to your clipboard locally — no data is sent to any server

The site does use cookies and browser storage for two purposes: your cookie consent preference is saved in localStorage and mirrored to a cookie_consent cookie, and an cs_access cookie is set for 7 days after you unlock a password-protected case study. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics processes anonymised visit data via the _ga and _ga_* cookies. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.

This site links to external services like LinkedIn and your email client (via mailto). When you click these links, you leave this website. Those services have their own privacy policies that I don't control.

All fonts used on this site (Figtree, Anton, and Faculty Glyphic) are loaded through Next.js at build time, meaning they are self-hosted. Your browser never contacts Google Fonts or any other CDN when you visit this site. No external CSS, JavaScript, or font requests are made.

This website is hosted on web infrastructure that may automatically collect basic server logs, which can include:

• Your IP address
• Browser type and version
• Pages you visited and when
• Referring URL (the page that linked you here)

These logs are collected and managed by the hosting provider for security and reliability purposes. I do not access these logs for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose. They are automatically deleted by the hosting provider according to their retention policies.

Under privacy laws like the GDPR (EU), UK GDPR, PIPEDA (Canada), CCPA/CPRA (California), and LGPD (Brazil), you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port it.

Since this website does not collect any personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you've contacted me directly by email, standard email retention applies. You can ask me to delete our correspondence at any time.

This site does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. Since no personal data is collected at all, the site is inherently compliant with children's privacy regulations like COPPA (U.S.) and the Age Appropriate Design Code (UK).

This website does not transfer any personal data across borders because it does not collect any personal data. The hosting server may be located outside your country of residence; however, since no personal data is processed, cross-border data transfer regulations do not apply.

If this site's data practices ever change (for example, if I add analytics or a contact form), this policy will be updated accordingly. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect when the most recent change was made.
