Privacy Policy

This website is a personal portfolio. I don't collect contact forms, run accounts, or build visitor profiles. I do use cookies for consent management and case-study access, and analytics (Google Analytics and Zoho SalesIQ visitor tracking) loads only if you explicitly turn it on. This website is the personal portfolio of Shaban Mohammed, a Senior UX Designer based in Toronto, Canada. The site is available at shabanmohammed.com.

I do not run contact forms, sign-up forms, or accounts, so I do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through this site. The site does process some technical data: server logs, your cookie-consent choice, a case-study access cookie, and, only if you turn them on, Google Analytics and Zoho SalesIQ visitor tracking. Here is what the site does and does not do:

• No contact forms, sign-up forms, or user accounts
• No advertising IDs or fingerprinting
• The "Copy Email" button copies my address to your clipboard locally; no data is sent to any server

The site does use cookies and browser storage for two purposes: your cookie consent preference is saved in localStorage and mirrored to a cookie_consent cookie, and an cs_access cookie is set for 7 days after you unlock a password-protected case study. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics processes anonymised visit data via the _ga and _ga_* cookies, and Zoho SalesIQ sets _zldp and _zldt for visitor tracking. If you accept analytics cookies, this site also loads Zoho SalesIQ (Zoho Corporation) for visitor analytics. It records visit data such as the pages you view, your browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address, which I can see in the SalesIQ dashboard. There is no chat window; the service runs for visitor tracking only, and it loads nothing if you decline analytics. Zoho handles this data under its own privacy policy (opens in new tab). If you withdraw consent, the site deletes Zoho's cookies where it can and stops loading the service from your next page view.

This site links to external services like LinkedIn and your email client (via mailto). When you click these links, you leave this website. Those services have their own privacy policies that I don't control.

All fonts used on this site (Figtree, Anton, and Faculty Glyphic) are loaded through Next.js at build time, meaning they are self-hosted. Your browser never contacts Google Fonts or another font CDN for them. Two optional services load external scripts, but only after you accept analytics cookies: Google Analytics and Zoho SalesIQ visitor tracking. Nothing else external loads.

This website is hosted and served through Cloudflare Pages. To protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare may set a security cookie called cf_clearance in your browser, usually only after it shows you a challenge. Cloudflare may also automatically collect basic server logs, which can include:

• Your IP address
• Browser type and version
• Pages you visited and when
• Referring URL (the page that linked you here)

These logs and security measures are handled by Cloudflare and the hosting layer for security and reliability. I do not use them for marketing or profiling. Cloudflare processes this data under its own privacy terms, and it may be handled on servers outside Canada.

Depending on where you live and which law applies (for example the GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA in Canada, CCPA/CPRA in California, or LGPD in Brazil), you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or portability of data about you.

This site holds very little that is tied to you: server logs, your saved consent choice, a short-lived case-study access cookie, and any analytics data you chose to turn on. If you want to ask about, correct, or delete data connected to you, email me and I will help where I reasonably can. Some security or legal records may be exempt, and data held by a provider such as Google or Zoho may need to go through that provider. If you have emailed me directly, standard email retention applies, and you can ask me to delete our correspondence at any time.

This portfolio is not directed at children and does not knowingly ask children for personal information. It is a professional portfolio aimed at an adult audience. If you believe a child has shared personal information with me by email, contact me and I will delete it.

Some of the services this site relies on are run by companies based outside Canada, so limited technical data may be processed in other countries. Cloudflare (hosting and security), Google (analytics, if you turn it on), and Zoho (visitor tracking, if you accept analytics) may each process data such as IP addresses or cookie identifiers on servers abroad. Each operates under its own privacy terms and transfer safeguards. The site does not sell your data or transfer it for marketing.

If this site's data practices ever change (for example, if I add a contact form or a newsletter), this policy will be updated accordingly. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect when the most recent change was made.
